THANK YOU!

THANK YOU!
Several weeks ago I asked all of my regular subscribers to recommend As I Like It! to their friends and families. Thirty five of my readers liked it and passed on the emails, resulting in nearly 100 new readers. As much as I enjoy writing As I Like It!, it’s always gratifying to secure new readers. Writers thrive on readers, so to those new readers, I want to say
WELCOME!

WELCOME!
Someone you know was kind enough to give me your email address and allow me to include you in the distribution list for As I Like It! Beginning this week, you will receive a Blog Alert each time I publish a new post. I write about good things to eat, interesting places to go, and an occasional piece of Flash Fiction.
Flash Fiction is a very short story on any subject that catches my fancy. There are historical pieces, as well as three series, featuring Stella Stone, a deputy Sheriff in the fictional Mississippi County of Barksdale, Junior and Bubba, pulpwood haulers in Barksdale County, and a scholarly hit man who is a rare book dealer in the Bookstore series.
I hope you’ enjoy reading As I Like It! as much as I enjoy writing it. I also write books, but we’ll touch on that later.
IT’S FOOTBALL TIME DOWN SOUTH
FOLLOW UP TO MONDAY’S POST
There were two games to be played when I wrote my Monday blog, and both turned out to be nail biters. The unranked Texas Longhorns upset #10 Notre Dame in a replay of last year’s humiliating loss in South Bend. Notre Dame showed a lot of offense, but hardly any defense.
On Monday night Ole Miss fell apart in the second half, to suffer its first defeat in 2016 to #4 Florida State. The Bears led 28–6 at one point, but Jimbo Fisher made adjustments at half time, and FSU completely dominated the second half. Ole Miss will win a lot of ball games in 2016, but their hopes of being a contender for the final four might have been a little ambitious.
