JUNE 27
THE MOVE IS COMPLETE
I have mixed emotions now that I’ve completed the move from my office in Magnolia Cottage to my new office in my home. I packed up and disposed of at least a couple of tons of furniture, office equipment, books and memorabilia, and we had an estate sale last week and sold almost everything that I had to leave behind. Like anyone who has ever moved, I’m relieved that all of the work is done.
This morning a local charity, Harvest Thrift Stores, came and collected everything that didn’t sell. The building is completely empty, and the cleaners are coming in the morning to do a deep clean. As I stood in the empty rooms that have been my life since 2009, I have to admit to a certain sense of loss. Glad to have the process done, but sad to be leaving.
On a cheerier note, I really like my home office. Everything is in its place, and my same business number, 334-737-2727, is fully operational. I’ve even managed to switch from AT&T to Charter Spectrum without having a meltdown. You’d rather divorce Ivana Trump than to tell AT&T that you’re moving on.

ADOPTION OPPORTUNITY
Due to my recent move, reluctantly, I may have to offer my office kitty for adoption. Shiva has been with me for nearly four years, and has been an affectionate, loyal part of my office life. Currently, I’ve taken her home, and I hope that she’ll be able to adapt to our other two kitties, but in the event that she doesn’t, I want to find a loving home for her.
Shiva is a healthy American short hair, and she’s chock full of personality. She’s up-to-date on all of her shots, and her front claws have been removed. Shiva is a loving lap kitty and a great companion, but sadly, if she doesn’t make the adjustment to living at our house, I’ll have to look for a new home for her. And yes, her name, Shiva, is the protagonist in my new novel, Jake’s Revenge.
JAKE’S REVENGE
Jake’s Revenge is available on Amazon in both print and e-book versions, and also on the Front Porch Press website, www.frontporchpressllc.com. Character word “Hospitality”
I’m enjoying your new book ( Jake’s Revenge ) very much. It’s a really good read. Damn if it don’t sound like Jake has gotten himself into some situations our friend Ed Peters might would get himself into.
Send Shiva to the 4D ASAP—My coyote’s are starving
When you think about Shiva, think black panther Lite. Two weeks of Shiva and you’d be out of coyote’s/
Tommy, I just did the same thing. Sold my Roxbury Road house after being on the market for four days and closed yesterday. Moved to a two-bedroom, two-bath place in Flowood that’s gated with my own garage. Had an estate sale this past weekend to sell stuff that Jay and Rebekah didn’t want or have room for and donated the rest to St. James’ rummage sale. A non-profit picked up what they did not want. I like my new place, it’s all I need even though I will miss my gas stove and my deck. I do have a small balcony that’s very pleasant in the morning and late in the evening after the sun goes down. The nineteen steps that are airconditioned to get up to my place will be good for me…..I hope/think. Not going to let that keep me down.
As Rebekah says, #movingon!
Hugs to you and happy 4th of July.
